General | - There is a programme outreach and impact committee
|
What path | - Named Masters are overshadowing un-named and PhD
- They don't want to take more into named, there needs to be more emphasis on the other programmes and the benefits of them. They don't want un-named to be perceived as second class.
The following info may be a bit muddled. - Named/Specialist
- focussed
- no honours
- do part 1+2 (part one is the same as honours but are told what courses to do)
- research prep course which is one year long and very broad, these students become a strong cohort
- Honours
- can still focus but are encouraged to explore more
- generally they would prefer their Masters students went straight to PhD (but this might be something we can't say)
- Masters - part 2 (full year thesis)
- placements
- CDN masters is a pathway to PhD
- Forensic applie dhas internships
- They have a lot of GrdDip students (200) who are doing this so they can do pg psychology. They would usually then go into honours.
- The official entry requirements are the same for both Honours and Masters. Unofficially Masters student would have better grades.
|
