Blackboard: Follow-up questions/topics

  1. Unpack the "teaching and learning" purpose to identify a range of "edge cases" and whether they are allowed in or not.
  2. What types of "organisations" are there already? Any faculties? Schools?
    1. Do you map courses to these organisations? Or how else do they "connect" with students in the tool?
  3. Can staff push one notification to two courses?
    1. If so, does the notifications engine consolidate the duplicate notifications (i.e. two instances of exactly the same notification going to the same person)
  4. Following on from #2 and #3, could a school administrator use a school organisation to push notifications to all students doing any course in the school on something like a summer intern ship opportunity?
  5. Does Blackboard currently do anything with the subject value it gets from Banner (the first four (alpha) characters it gets from Banner)?
  6. Explore how Blackboard (or the staff using it) could benefit from the COO API
    1. How easy would it be for each course, when created, to have the script create the appropriate structured url to access the course outline online?
  7. Is it possible for ex-current students to use blackboard? For instance, keeping in contact with people who have graduated? Or allowing public users to create accounts and register interest in courses/faculties?
