T&P Apply Now Button with Countdown

Background

The apply now button has been envisaged to include a countdown. This button appears on every tab of the programme section and in the footer of the programme section.

We don't have the per degree data to call on to make this work at the moment.

• information is based on the type of programme - for undergraduate there are different dates:
  • for trimester one there is a December date for limited entry programmes
  • for other trimester one programmes the date is 10 January but this date is then often (always) extended through into February (sometimes with a penalty fee). Beyond that the truth is we will take people up until the last minute.
  • Trimester 2 - when do we start using these dates? 
  • Are there times when there is no date because we are still accepting previous trimester enrolments?
  • Trimester 3 - the cut off dates for starting a degree in Trimester 3 (not common) does crossover with the time when we are recruiting hard for Trimester 1.

Possible Solutions

1. Create the information we need to have data information automatically update
2. Create a standard apply button and look at delaying the countdown as the next apply date isn't until May. 
3. Create the button with the dates but it would need to be manually updated. 
4. Consider whether this approach is needed
   • SAS like it as it creates a sense of urgency - boxes with dates are already used on homesite so not having this could be seen as a step backwards. 
   • I assume students/influencers also like to know these dates

Decision

Go with solution 2 and create a button which on says 'Apply Now' and points here http://www.victoria.ac.nz/study/apply-enrol/apply

• Paul Seiler (Unlicensed) please update the User Story which relates to the Apply Now button and potentially create one for the future which includes a countdown.
