Success measures

Topics and undergrad degree pages

Notes

  • This plan includes mostly success metrics (“It’s working well”) – rather than comparative metrics (“It’s better than before”). This is because the WIP2 work involves a high degree of change, and it will be difficult to usefully compare ‘previous state’ with ‘current state’.
  • Some qualitative metrics have been included. Interviews with users, workshops with internal stakeholders (F&S) and students (COO), and meetings with student advisors have provided significant insights into the ‘current state’ of the Victoria website and user issues; and future feedback from these sources is seen as a legitimate source of information on 'how it’s going'.

Sessions with secondary students found that the existing undergrad info on disciplines and degrees was difficult to locate, navigate and understand.

Sessions with secondary students find a high level of satisfaction with the undergrad info on disciplines and degrees.

Note that comments from new current students could also be useful.

Also: unsolicited observations that things have improved.

Other generic changes we could tap into?

Reduction in no. of enrolments in the wrong degree.

Student Experience Improvement Survey

There are many factors contributing to changes in ratings in the Student Experience Improvement Survey. However, vastly improved undergrad discipline and programme information on the Victoria website is likely to be a factor in future ratings improvements for the areas noted below:

Pre-enrolment and enrolment experience

  • I knew how to prepare for life as a university student (2014 = 56%)
  • I am confident that the programme of study I am undertaking is right for me (2014 = 70%)

Effectiveness of information sources

  • Victoria website (2014 = 82%)
