Process for 'Discovery testing'

  1. Prioritise audiences and define subgroups - underway

  5. Carry out the testing.
  6. Engage the users for the future - eg, more testing/review.

  • Years 12 and 13 from Wellington

Question Method 
 If you came to Victoria's website looking for information, what would you want to find out?Question 
 Where on our site would you look for it? (show site) - one purpose is to determine whether they look for F&Ss, another is to find out how well the current IA and tools work. 
 How good is the current info? (discussion on what they found) 
Get them to help out with terminology - what do these words mean to you? (undergrad, subject, course etc) 
Which information do you need to see first - topic, programme or course (make sure they know what these mean) - one purpose is to ascertain at what point they want to find out about courses. 
Feedback on a mockup of the new topic page - useful? Do they like the approach? What doesn't it cover, that should be there? 

 Is it important to visit a faculty or school hub when you're looking for information on Victoria's website? What would you expect to find out there?

  • Commission research (eg, new ideas and products for your business). May be under a Callahan research and development scheme (grant) or summer school placement.
  • Hire a student to work for you over summer.
