2015-08-20 Team meeting notes

• Comms advisers meeting - Jane and I met with F&S advisers including Maria and Kathryn. All went well. Will put what was shared on Confluence for information.
• Meeting with Maria and Nigel on Comms - Friday. If there is anything you wish me to raise please let me know.
• COO - plans for sprint 19. Joe will be on COO for the first week of sprint 19. Any issues please let me know.
• Topics and programmes delivery - will be opened to wider team for input. Please read and keep looking for options.

• Paul to talk through the suggested approach - link to be provided
• Some discussion around the F&S subjects and work required here for remapping or linking to the new Topics
• Could we look improving the search results so its more likely to highlight the homesite lists
• Impact on experience between old and new templates
• Timing for release for OES looking at subjects
• Re-directs can be used for remapping existing URLs
• Timing needs to be reviewed, but doesn't necessarily impact the release approach longer term. This just changes what the first release may be.
• Testing as we role out will allow us to improve as we move forward
• Would need to change the subject list in course finder

Academic terms vs what prospective students understand

Testing has fed back that these terms are confusing

Was discussed at the CSP reference group this week and lots of discussion

Could change the flow of publication and web content

Chrissi will follow up with Nigel on who we could raise these with.

  • Student recruitment noted needing alignment between publications and web.
  • Also queried whether student recruitment have had enough input into Topics
