Bachelor of Biomedical Science

School Site: http://www.victoria.ac.nz/sbs/study/undergraduate-study/bbmed 30158

Programme director contacts details: Replaced by VUW contact details. I have opened a decision ticket for this on UG, as we will do it for PG.

Preparation courses: Not mentioned but probably should be and could be handled as important information on Programme - About. With Alida Steemson (Unlicensed) in corrections table.I have created WIP-1184 to address preparation courses as a suggested improvement for all degree/majors.

Degree examples (tabular form): Same content is covered by our new expression of the degree requirements. Visual examples (as in GUS) to come in a subsequent release.

Human Genetics

Molecular Pathology

Molecular Pharmacology and Medicinal Chemistry

Faculty site: n/a for all three, as this site currently pitches what we call the area of study on a subject page. It lists the three UG major subjects on the page, but they don't have their own pages.

Note that our taxonomy also have Biomedical Science as a subject within the topic Biomedical Sciences.

School name: Only stated for a minority of the subjects (or topics if all are taught by the same school).

Related subjects: Replaced by related topics (being the topics that contain the related subject). Will need to limit this to 6.

List of careers: Sometimes handled at topic level, sometimes at subject, with link to CareersNZ for further information.

Programme Director and School Administrator: Not covered anywhere.

Note: This page contains information on the three UG subjects we have included in the Biomedical Sciences topic, so these will be some duplication until all vestiges of this page are removed from the system. I don;t think this is a big deal, but worth noting.

  • Check all six related AoS have the right state: Either subject level links (where the topic is not yet live) or 'Explore topic name' where the topic is already live.
  • Especially important while stage has some 'Explore' links enabled that are not accurate for production.www

Biomedical Sciences is the first area of study to go live that has multiple subjects. As such, there is one change required for this (an dother AoS) that was not needed for Tourism Management. While iwe will apply it as soon as we can, it is not necessary to have it for the go-live.

  • Joe Lobotka (Unlicensed) to design a new state for the topic fly-out on the AoS navigation page to reflect the 'Explore Biomedical Sciences' being the link level, and the subjects being relegated to information only. This will 'mirror' the 'Explore topic' button on the related areas of study, where the related area in question already has a new topic page live.
  • Apply this pattern to Tourism Management (and any other topics that went live before it was designed and built.
