Let's use this page to map out our user/usability testing needs: who, what, when.
Who (User group) | What do we need to know? | Online/anon or face to face? | When | Additional ethics approval required? |

Secondary school students (Year 12 and/or 13) | CSP: What are they looking for when they come to the Vic site to find out about a topic/career (eg, accounting), interest area (eg, working in developing countries) or programme ("I might just do a BA"). Explore: - their understanding of navigation labels and terminology (eg, undergraduate, subject, programme, course)
- the relative importance of subject, programme and course (eg, at what point do they want to know about courses?)
- how they use the current interfaces (1) how easily can they find UG or PG info on the homesite
- Feedback on a mockup of the new subject page
- Ask: About their perception of school and faculty sites - what relevance might they have at this stage? What relevance do they have later on?
(just an interim list - please add to it/amend) | Face to face | Discovery phase, May to early June | |
Current students | - Channels - where do they go for which information? How's that working for them?
- What role does a school have for them? What about a faculty? How often do they go to the f/s sites, and what for?
