xgafdghNote to explain Votes column: Maybe each of us could cast up to four votes (one per faculty only) as who we would prefer to talk to early. I have made mine by entering my initials in the right-hand column.
Faculty | Contacts | Key Notes | Comments | Votes | |||||
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Architecture and Design | Fay Julian - Faculty Manager Francis Saunders - Web Publisher (main) above on maternity |
| Content is more aligned to future content approach e.g. postgrad Does have separate sites for faculties and schools PS: Looks like a good early contender. | PS AN SM | |||||
Victoria Business School (Commerce) | Ann Thomson and Kay de Malmanche - Web Publishers |
|
| PS: Might need a little longer to work out what they want, their preferred direction | |||||
Education | Faculty manager - Noeleen Williamson Rae Leighton - Web publisher (main) above is a new member of staff |
| Discreet piece of work, and the school information exist within the faculty site Will be getting rid of one of the school sites (Te Kura Maori) PS: Consider the desirability and practicality of timing our WIP work with this faculty to coincide with the "removing" of one school site? CD: Would consider leaving towards the end due to restructures and staff availability. | ||||||
Engineering | Faculty manager - Suzan Hall Craig Watterson - Web contact (main) above is contact, manual updates are made by another member of staff
|
| Will the wiki stay? PS: Maybe start by defining the purpose or need that it meets TD: I just happened to fall across this http://www.mcs.vuw.ac.nz/stat/consulting (looks as though the main page hasn't been updated since 2007). This has relationship to PhD/Postgraduate Research. Looks like there is a secure area for people to log in to. PS: Uniqueness of their wiki to maintain content means I would delay this a while. | ||||||
Graduate Research (FGR) | Faculty Manager - Teresa Sawicka Vicky Boswell - web publisher (main) |
| Would we use a faculty site to deliver this? More administrative than marketing. Marketing for PhD is with the other faculty sites. PS: I am unsure exactly how/when their work applies to other postgraduate students? PS: Maybe best tackled in conjunction with Postgraduate Information, rather than as a F&S? | ||||||
Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) | Faculty Manager - Kristina McGuiness-King Melissa Gough - Web Publisher (main) |
| PS: Do we offer good/solid conference functionality (or are we better integrating to others that do)? PS: Although complicated they are keen. Their participation at the workshop filled me with hope that this is doable, early. and | PS SM | |||||
Law | School Manager - Carol Sorenson Denise Blackett - web publisher (main) |
| Discreet piece of work, and the school information exist within the faculty site PS: The one school one faculty relationship could make this easy for consolidation but learnings might not apply to other faculties. PS | ||||||
Science | Faculty Manager - Johan Barnard Sam Fisher - web publisher (main) |
| Toihuarewa |
| PS |
General comments:
- Lower general skill level across faculty and schools in relation to web
- They may not be aware of the full extent of scope of the WIPII work - i.e. restructure of sites and re-write of content
- Does a student know what a faculty or school is (or differences) and do they care?
- What do business stakeholders think the purpose of the faculty and school sites are, and how do they differ?
