Guidelines

...

I propose that we follow:

  • For topic pages (and megatopics if they need addresses): /study/[topicname]  An example would be /study/architecture
  • For megatopics with the same name as a topic: topic pages written for an international audience: /international/study/[topicname]-area  (e.g. the Architecture mega-topic would be /study/architecture-area/ and the Architecture topic would be /study/architecture
  • For topic pages written for an international audience: /international/study/[topicname]

Questions

  1. Do we always/have to include "-and" in urls? Seems like core team does on Homesite. Is the gain enough to accept the extra 4 characters of length
  2. Will our Will our repeated topic pages (Information systems and Geographynow only geography) be identical in all respects (in which case we can use one url for both instances)? Or will there be different content/links/etc
  3. Do we need urls for the megatopic (i.e. will there be content or a need to address them uniquely)?
  4. Architecture is the only mega-topic with the same name as a topic page. Should we rename it Architecture and building science (rather than append -area to get a unique ulr)?
