CSP Reference GroupJane

we are presenting a working version of Topics and Programmes to the CSP Reference Group. This will also be an opportunity to go through any outstanding questions.

PS: Suggest we ask them for guidance on degree examples (are generic better than specific, how should we handle flexible degrees where general examples are 'elusive'?)

We will need to create more than one set of content to cover all of the scenarios.

Paul Seiler (Unlicensed) has captured what I think is the minimum number, but also have questions: Templates 1. Topic with one subject 2. Topic with more than one subject 3. Degree template where there is no major 4. Degree template where there is more than one major and you may select only one major 5. Degree template where there is more than one major and you may select two majors 6. Assumptions on templates 1. Two topic templates covers subjects that are UG only, UG and PG and PG only 2. Two topic templates covers all the content/block type (e.g. student stories, staff stories, videos, connections to industry, slide show, etc) 3. Two topic templates cover subjects that exercise the different number of example courses (0, 1, 2, 3, 4,5, and 6) 4. Template 5 could be handled by altering the ‘parameter’ for the major selector 5. Two degree templates will cover a degree with more than the one standard entry requirement 6. Two degree templates covers degrees and also majors that have supplementary information

URLsPaulLets agree on urls (for new topics and degrees/programmes).

Options discussed:

  • /choose
  • /choose-study
  • /study-choice
  • /what-to-study
  • /study-area
  • /study-at-vic
  • /area-of-study

Shortlist

  • /area-of-study
  • /study-choice - this has more of a user focus, it is a verb though but not quite what they will then find.
  • /study-area
