• Added a duration/intensity (that really come in to its own for part-time only qualifications and PG (where there is a specified maximum duration as well as the standard full-time minimum)

• Removed supplementary information and tool tips after checking that it is in Gather Content (the system we use for faculty and school staff to review, comment and approve prior to loading in to Squiz (the web platform)).

Duration/intensity

The BBSc represents three years of full-time study and may also be studied part-time.

Entry Requirements

To be accepted into the BBSc you need to:

• achieved University Entrance for at least one of the admission types; and
• achieved an NCEA Guaranteed Entry Score (GES) of 180 points. Further information on the GES is available in the Admissions section.

Degree requirements

• A total of 360 points, of which:
  
  • At least 270 points must be from courses listed for the BBSc or BAS.
  • At least 210 points must be at 200 and 300 level:
    • Of the 210 points at least 180 points must be from courses listed for the BBSc or BAS.
      • Of the 180 points at least 90 points must be at 300 level.
• Complete eight courses at 100 level (in first year):
  
  • SARC 111
  • SARC 121
  • SARC 122
  • SARC 131
  • SARC 151
  • SARC 161
  • SARC 162
  • One further elective course.
• Complete four courses at 200 level and the other 200-level major courses (in second year):
  
  • BILD 251
  • SARC 221
  • SARC 222
  • SARC 223.
• Complete four courses at 300 level and the other 300-level major courses (in third year):
  • BILD 322
  • BILD 364
  • SARC 321
  • SARC 362.
• Satisfy the requirements for at least one major subject (selected from the drop down list below).
  • 300-level courses may only be counted towards one major.

• Complete BILD 261 and BILD 262 (in second year).
• Complete three courses at 300 level (in third year):
  • BILD 361
  • BILD 362
  • BILD 364.
• Complete courses worth 60 further points from elective courses (spread over two years), including:
  • At least 30 points from courses at 200 and 300 level.

Sustainable Engineering Systems (SSEG)

• Complete two courses at 200 level (in second year):
  • BILD 231
  • BILD 232.
• Complete three courses at 300 level (in third year):
  • BILD 321
  • BILD 322
  • BILD 331.
• Complete courses worth 60 further points from elective courses (spread over two years), including:
  • At least 30 points from courses at 200 and 300 level.
