Content for UG 'How to apply block'

The following examples are currently in use on existing PG pages, as generic or non-programme specific content, the 'default'. However, the content can differ considerably, as the needs of a particular programme require. Given the much larger consistency of UG (cf PG) I have drawn from the default UG to help us.

Two additional thoughts that you may want to think of:

  • Steps to apply: I haven't reviewed this content and while I know we basically align, maybe there is value in including this in the content/writing stage.
  • Design: Designing a process flow or series of steps would increase the visual appeal and probably readability, especially for the international version, which by necessity is much longer. Maybe the design could also apply to the Steps to apply page.

Domestic

Currently used on many PG programmes:

Apply using the Online Enrolment System.

Make sure you enrol as early as possible—our courses are popular and fill up fast.

But we also have a second version:

Before you apply, discuss your plans with the programme coordinator or another academic staff member.

To apply, you'll need to:

International

You’ll need to apply in writing and send your application to Victoria International—the University’s international office. You can’t apply by email or fax. Before applying to study this programme:

  • check you meet the entry requirements. To study at Victoria as an international student, you'll need a good standard of English and a good academic record.
  • Check the fees and costs. It’s free to apply, and you will only need to pay tuition fees once you have received an offer to study at Victoria (known as an Offer of Place) and you’ve decided you definitely want to come here. See the fees for this programme below.

To apply, download and complete the International Application Form.

You can either courier your application to:

  • Victoria International, Victoria University of Wellington, Level 2, Easterfield Building, Kelburn Campus, Kelburn Parade, Wellington, NEW ZEALAND

Or mail it to:

  • Victoria International, Victoria University of Wellington, PO Box 600, Wellington 6012, NEW ZEALAND

Be sure to include the following documents with your application:

  • certified copy of your passport (the personal details page)
  • Evidence of your proficiency in English, if required
  • certified copy of your official academic results

After you have sent us your application:

  • We’ll send you an email to confirm we have received it.
  • We’ll then let you know by email if your application is successful, usually within a week of receiving it. If you’re accepted to Victoria, we’ll email you an Offer of Place letter that will guarantee you entry into your chosen degree programme and tell you what you need to do next.

If you don’t receive a confirmation email within two weeks of sending your application, or if it’s been more than four weeks since you were notified that your application was received, you can contact us to check where things are at.

Degree contacts

As we currently direct all UG enquiries to STRAO, I suggest we add a reusable block that links to Meet our Student Recruitment and Orientation team. This block would change to guide contacts to International when the switcher is on.
