- The BBSc requirements were easy for me to understand,, mostly due to the highly structured (and prescribed at that) nature of this degree. Why is this?
- Because of this highly structured nature we probably don't have to show the degree requirements by default, as doing the prescribed courses plus electives of at least 30 points will meet all the requirements.
- We could still have them but have them rolled up and available only when requested.
- Further, we can resource the development of a visual representation of this degree for each of the majors and both together as a double (if enrolled numbers warrant).
Degree requirements
- Total of 360 points required.
- Minimum of 270 points from courses listed for the BBSc or BAS, including:
- Minimum of 180 points from 200 and 300-level courses listed for the BBSc or BAS
- Minimum of 210 points from 200 and 300-level courses (including the 180 points above)
- Minimum of 90 points from 300-level courses listed for the BBSc or BAS.
- Complete the following eight 100-level courses:
- SARC 111
- SARC 121
- SARC 122
- SARC 131
- SARC 151
- SARC 161
- SARC 162
- 15 further points from 100-level elective courses.
- SARC 122 may be replaced with an elective course if you have gained a minimum of 14 NCEA level 3 credits in two of: Calculus, Physics, and Statistics.
- Selection for second year is based on academic performance across all the first year courses. Historically, a ?? average has been sufficient to be selected.
- Complete the following four 200-level courses:
- BILD 251
- SARC 221
- SARC 222
- SARC 223.
- Complete the following four 300-level courses:
- BILD 322
- BILD 364
- SARC 321
- SARC 362.
- Satisfy the requirements for at least one major subject.
- 300-level courses may only be counted towards one major.

Thoughts and questions
- 2h. Is it desirable to specify here that a first year elective course is required ? Removes the need for the student to do the maths behind the rules above (see question above). Also relates to whether entry to first year is based on grade from elective or not?
- 4: Could be replaced by Calendar statement, but means little to students so prefer this wording. Is FAD okay with it?
- 4: Is B+ average part accurate? Are the grades from all first year courses (including any possible substitutions and electives) considered or all the required first year courses? Could move from requirements to supplementary information?
- The supplementary information above is given in case people wonder why courses are listed twice, but to avoid explaining about doing this subject as a major in the BBSc cf in another degree. Is this okay? Accurate?
- New: How often do students of the BBSc combine one of these majors with one from another degree. How/when to do cater for this?
- New: If I want to refer to the first year core courses can I move the 100-level elective to its own requirement?
- New: Should 200 and 300 level course requirements come straight after 100 above?

Thoughts and questions
- For simplicity I have taken a liberty of expressing both the majors in this degree as a third major in the drop down. I hope that this means we can avoid providing the opportunity to select a second major from an outside degree. Maybe we resort to our standard pattern and allow the selection of two?
- We can, however, allow students doing another degree to select one of the first two BBSc majors to do in the other degree.
