  • v2.5 Removed all 'supplementary' information after checking that it is in GatherContent, and made minor edits based on GUS corrections.
  • v2.6 Removed courses that don;t exist in Course Finder. More to come after Johan answers my email
  • V2.7: 2017 changes

Open Questions

  • Degree requirements, third requirement bullet: What is an 'approved equivalent? Is there a list or at least a definition? How do I get approval?
  • Degree requirements: What courses are approved to meet the oral and written communication requirements? How do I get approval?
  • Applied Physics: We need to define approved course tighter?
  • Applied Physics: We need to define related subjects tighter?
  • Computer Science: Please define 'approved courses' for each of the two instances? And is it really necessary to have the course selections approved, as they come from quite a tight range anyway?
  • Development Studies: In discussion with Johan it appears that students may not be permitted entry to some of the listed courses due to over-demand. Which ones? Where is the warning message and policy? Why even list them if this is the case?
  • Development Studies: The school website appears to have incorrect information (cf the UG Prospectus). Somebody might want to check and correct if required.
  • Development Studies: Are the specialist stream (see page 19 of the UG Prospectus) the same as specialisations? If not maybe use a different word, as it will confuse readers. Do we have to cover them on the web?
  • Electronic and Computer Systems: Please defined 'approved courses'? And is it really necessary to have the course selection approved, as they come from quite a tight range anyway?
  • Environmental Science: Please define 'approved courses'?
  • Environmental Studies:  What are the equivalent courses for STAT 193? Can we list them?
  • Geography:  What are the equivalent courses for STAT 193? Can we list them?
  • Geology: Is the 100-level CHEM requirements expressed too precisely (and course changes over time might invalidate)? Just seemed better to express the permitted range rather than exclude one course.
  • Geophysics: Really needs to be two specialisations (where choosing one is mandatory) of the one major, both for the sake of clear communications and consistent with other degrees.
  • Physical Geography: I have used the Supplementary information section to express the desirability of an additional 100-level course. Please check and let me know if this is strong enough. I feel uncomfortable placing this in the major requirements section when the Calendar is silent on the matter.
  • Statistics: Please check what I have written about the 'two further courses' at 200 level?
