Comments
- The BBSc requirements were easy for me to understand, mostly due to the highly structured (and prescribed at that) nature of this degree.
- Further, we can resource the development of a visual representation of this degree for each of the majors and both together as a double (if enrolled numbers warrant).
On faculty-requested changes
- As with BAS, I have included references to the year courses are usually done in, while still leaving wiggle room (for part-time students, similarity to other degrees, etc.). Any stronger and I am unable to have the same pattern for other degrees. Is this strong enough?
- Remember that there will also be a GUS-type graphic showing the allocation of courses by year and by trimester.
- I have made the connection between 100-level core courses and 100-level major courses as text, while still leaving major courses in the major section and resisting the temptation to use Part 1/2, including it here for your feedback. I am not happy with it and certainly don't want to use it for other degrees (meaning inconsistency), as it is long/words and distracting. I would rather fall back on the GUS-type image mentioned above and leave it out of the requirements. What do you think?
- As with BAS, I have moved the SARC 122 substitution option to supplementary information, as it broke the flow unnecessarily.
- As with BAS, I have added the GES of 180 to the Entry Requirements section (easier to see in the wire frames), as it only differs from 150 for BAS and BBSc.
Entry Requirements
- Guaranteed Entry Score (GES) for the BAS is 180 points. Further information on the GES is available in the Admissions section.

Supplementary information
- BAS students share "a common first year . . interests and needs" (GUS, p.38)
- SARC 122 may be replaced with an elective course by students who have at least 14 NCEA Level 3 credits in each of two of: Calculus, Physics, and Statistics.
- Some courses listed above are also listed under the requirements for the major (selected from the drop down list below). Students only need to complete these courses once.
- BBSc students studying both the Project Management and Sustainable Building Systems majors don't require any elective courses beyond their first year. BBSc students doing only one of these majors are required to complete elective courses to the value of 60 points, preferably 30 points in each of the second and third years.
