Tertiary education and career goals
Wants Really wants to go to university: not really sure what she wants to study - is interested in education and psychology. Thinks that university could also help her to - she has thought about Maori studies, and her sister suggested that she could also think about media, film or theatre - something to do with the arts.
Pania thinks that university could help her develop as a person and she. She'd like to get involved in groups and activities : - although the thought of meeting new people and having completely new experiences is quite stressful. If she chose Auckland Uni, the commute from her mum's home on the other side of the city would be stressful (and expensive). And the cost of flatting in Auckland, if she wanted to do that later, would be horrendous.
Wants to challenge herself and leave home: her sister graduated from Victoria two years ago and she's told Pania what a great experience it was, and how much she loved living in Wellington (she's now in Sydney).
And actuallyActually, two people from her year at school are probably coming to Victoria next year. One of them is thinking of doing law Law and she's not sure what the other one is doing.
Pania has whanau in Lower Hutt, so she wouldn't be without support. However, she'd live in would live in the Halls for the first year and then would probably go flatting - that's what her sister did, and she's talked heaps about how much she enjoyed it.
