1.5.2Gabehttp://stage.victoria.ac.nz/explore/study-areas/geography/study?subject=geographical-information-systems-and-sciencePaul Seiler Paul here is my approach to this one - I changed everything after the first two paras. A few quick points/questions in case you have any comments:I've added in a 'box' for the PGDip that isn't in the AoS page
I don't know what Mairead is called in relation to this programme (or whether she wants to be on the page)- I've called her programme coordinator
i don't know if we can have contact info formatted like this on these pages. I could just turn it into an inline link to her email.
I'll need to send this to Mairead before going live?  Learn to use computer-based systems to explore spatial and geographic data
  • please replace the entire GIS section with this. IT's a littel unconventional so please ask if you're not sure what I'm after.

    Geographic Information Science (GIS) PG

Explore spatial and geographic data using computer-based systems. Create new ways to visually interpret and present this information—on maps and map layers, using smartphones and mobile devices as data viewers, and even through interactive infographics.

You'll investigate the ideas behind the creation of these systems and think about the way we can conceptualise spatial problems—from disaster management, to conservation monitoring, to archaeology.

Wellington is at New Zealand's political and scientific heart. It's the seat of government and the site of embassies and high commissions, non-governmental organisations and Crown Research Institutes, like GNS Science and NIWA. It's also the home of some fascinating natural features—like a major fault lineand a short trip away from the Volcanic Plateau and the southern glaciers.
