Programme structure

The Master of Information Studies (MIS) is integrated with the Postgraduate Certificate and the Postgraduate Diploma in Information Studies, which provide stepping stones to the full MIS for those who are uncertain whether they can commit to the entire programme. This nesting also provides for early exit qualifications for those unable or unwilling to complete the full MIS programmehas embedded within it the Postgraduate Diploma and the Postgraduate Certificate in Information Studies. The requirements below show that some courses are required by, or recognised in, more than one of these three programmes.

Questions

  1. Should we have a graphic to show nested or stair-cased programmes e.g. see Master of Applied Finance programme)?
  2. What language do we use to describe describe the stair-cased, integrated, stepping stones?
  3. Can people move only one way (or a different way) or both between the programmes?
  4. Is it easier to get an entry requirement exemption for the PGCertIS than the PGDipIS? For the PGDipIS than the MIS?
  5. We need to pin down the deliver options, both for the 'summary card' and the implications for a study visa for international students.
