Expectations vs reality: Had heard lots at school about how university was all about self-directed learning. "You won't have all these teachers feeding you and caring for you. Lecturers are more removed." "I thought I was going to be a little fish in a big pond." When she arrived she did feel "teeny" for awhile but quickly adjusted. Enjoyed meeting so many people from all over New Zealand. Organised and focussed on staying on top of coursework. First year: 

Re-enrolment: Picks the required courses first, which doesn't leave her with a lot of room for optionals, so she chooses the ones that fit in her timetable. Writes it all down on paper and the puts it into a Word or Excel file and looks for clashes. "I have to set aside time for it."

Had a degree audit at one point. Looked at the website to find someone to call at the faculty. "That's when I decided to minor."
