Mattie is starting to think seriously about his future line of work. At the Towards the end of last year (year 11), Wellington High held a careers evening to help students choose the right school subjects for year 12. Mattie picked up quite a bit of information at the careers evening, and told Mike he'd looked at a few websites, but in reality he seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the information and choices.

Mike wanted wants to give be able to give him advice and help him make an informed choicemake informed choices, so he went to the websites of several universities and looked at what degrees they offer that are relevant to working overseas in third world countries: and what school subjects are recommended. While he was there, Mike also looked at what it might cost to do a degree and what the government contribution might be.
